Danish singer Marie Dahlstrom proffers soulful interpretations
of others’ songs on this cd and you can get it for free here so that’s a
classic win/win. Beyond this Christmas gift from me to you – though released in
June, just discovered – I can recommend if for having some genuine quality,
even making Phil Collins’ song In The Air
a slow, funky success, but as soon as I say this I do recall I liked it when
first released and it’s only because he is a Tory dick that such a
pathetic predilection shrouds what good work he did produce as a solo artist,
and I also always have to acknowledge his enduring friendship with and support
of the wonderful John Martyn.
