Funk Off
Enjoying this instrumental collection in its unusual funky
repetitiveness, in the long draws of beats until horns march in and strut
around a bit, the electronics warbling and whirling in and out and about, at
times quite reggae-ish but also cinematic in sound, 60s cop film wah-wah, and
other subtle/unobtrusive echoes and influences, that is excepting the extraordinarily
far-out staccato riffed funk of Digital
Cowboy, the horns here in their snaps of plosive puffs to the beats and
then layering out to passages of tune, before such a fine guitar groove and
fuller horn accompaniments.
