Stone Machine - American Honey

Real Corn Bread

If you want your retro-rock nailed securely to the past and sounding like any raw and hard sounds from the hey days - and for my ears playing authentically and rousingly to the Leslie West School of Killing It - then West Virginia’s Stone Machine is the sublime example of a band that can do today what was done yesterday, brilliantly. American Honey is lyrically and rhythmically trousers-driven rock. Tight fitting. Tracks like Rock N Roll Queen, Shake That Thang and Speed Demon express it straight in words and sound. Dirk Blevins on guitar and Jason Mays on vocal duel over authentication duties and share in the stirring success of their approval seal. Mama I like your corn bread and I keep my shotgun clean. That says it all.
