This is a recommendation for people who like Brian Wilson or any similar great living artist to read this article 'Are we there yet?': on the road with Beach Boy Brian Wilson in today's Guardian here. It is written by Tom Lamont.
This is a long read. It is fond and empathetic and whilst
insightful about Wilson I think it also speaks perceptively about a musical
generation that we know only too well this year is sadly decreasing. I like the
observations on fans and their expectations. Again, whilst specifically about
Wilson and his unique interactions with others – or lack of, really – it illuminates
the universal fragility of that need from the fans.
