Jaime Wyatt - Felony Blues, album review

Done Her Time

Old school country and old school lyrics but utterly fresh-sounding, and that is projected through the simple fact of authenticity, and also I think a nod to modernity in the twist on a conventional mention, as here from Your Loving Saves Me

hard as concrete
soft as gravy
jesus is cool
but
your lovin' saves me

Having spent some time in prison for stealing from her drug dealer, there is street cred and the relevance of the album's title [and referenced in Wasco], but her main Country credibility is in the clarity in her vocal, beautifully soaring and swooning on From Outer Space. It is gorgeous too on the pedal steel layered Giving Back the Best of Me.
