Cowgirl's Train Set - Bastards and Broken Things

Ramshackle, Not Insipid

Where Mumford & Sons is rowdy in an upbeat, jolly, slap-o-the-thighs insipid way, to my listening, Cowgirl’s Train Set is raucous, messy, slightly discordant [clearly musically proficient in a couldn’t-give-a-tuningfork-if-not-obviously-proficient way] and very loud. Harmonica, fiddle and banjo are the prominent haphazard though also well-played instruments.

I don’t know much about the band as there is little out there, and a web site currently under construction. It’s all rather ramshackle, and wonderfully so. It’s bluegrass folk, by the way.
