Lointain
Hendrix inspired, the universal psychedelic language of
distortion and fuzz propels this French trio into Heavy Heaven, and opener Turn Over is so Jimi it doesn’t
require any translation or analysis. Another one of those albums recorded then
and only coming to light recently, these guys embraced all that could be loud
and instrumental with passion [that’s
in French, by the way, extending the ruse like Les Goths’ jams]. There are ‘quieter’
tracks, like Le Jour Etrit Gris, with
liftings from Let’s Go To San Francisco,
but the French tracks aren’t by nature blander, with title track Reve de Silence prefixing a more
psyche than heavy rock. Tre bien.
