Morgan Delt - Morgan Delt

Time Warp

Morgan Delt’s eponymous debut is a psyche, baroque, garage amalgam that reveals all about his musical influences and little of his nom de plume, but an interview for The 13th Track reveals that he listened to the LA Nuggets boxset and this autobiographical nugget underpins what we so clearly hear on this cd within the distortions and echoes and sudden sunshine pop orchestrations as at the ending of Little Zombies. It is quite an intense psychedelic wall of sound and it will take quite a few listens to glean the nuances of individual tracks, but as a sonic swipe it is a lo-fi and therefore authentic recreation of the past [and as I wrote that line I just heard a transference from The Chamber Brothers' Time Has Come Today percussion echoing echoed into the track Sad Sad Trip, and by the time I wrote that phrase I’m hearing some Beatles, so here’s a song to exemplify the whole and its time-warp proclivities].
